SPF – What does it cost to be sun safe?

SPF – What does it cost to be sun safe?

September 17, 2018

So what does this all mean for the kit you buy? Is it essential to buy something with a verified SPF factor? Are you putting your health at risk if you don’t? How much better is a jersey with an SPF on the label than one without?

Think Pink - Or Not!

Think Pink - Or Not!

August 31, 2018

For a colour with such gentle connotations, PINK, for one reason or another, always ends up being pretty contentious, both in our team & sometimes with our customers; why is that?

Eurosport GC Kit on the Zoncolan

Eurosport GC Kit on the Zoncolan

May 25, 2018

We're guessing that most cycling fans will have seen Chris Froome storm the Zoncolan climb in Stage 14 of the 2018 Giro d'Italia. Below is a video of a more normal mortal attempting the same climb - and he happens to be wearing the Eurosport GC Kit.

Eurosport GC - First Ride

Eurosport GC - First Ride

May 08, 2018

Seeing the boxes of brand new Eurosport GC kit arriving at the Tenn warehouse could only mean one thing; we had to take it on a test. There is nothing quite like being the first people to ride with a new range of cycle clothing where it is designed to be – on a bike, on the road.

What does ‘Technical’ mean with the Eurosport GC range?

April 26, 2018

It’s a word that is bandied about a lot in the cycling clothing world. There are technical fabrics, cuts, and designs - but what do we mean by them? What differentiates ‘technical’ kit from the rest?

Do I have to wear Lycra?

Do I have to wear Lycra?

April 17, 2018

We were recently told by one of Britain’s greatest Olympians, Chris Hoy, that anyone over 49kg wearing Lycra looked ‘awful’. For a man that weighed in at nearly double that (92kg) and spent most of his life wearing the stuff, we wondered if he was just having a bad day.

Wicking or Dripping?

Wicking or Dripping?

April 10, 2018

.... the verb to wick has very little to do with the assumed ability of modern sports fabrics to magically draw sweat away from our bodies so that it can evaporate into the air without getting us wet.

What is Waterproof?

What is Waterproof?

April 09, 2018

It is a question that I often asked myself when riding the miserable commute home on dark and damp winter evenings. Why was I still getting wet if my expensive cycle clothing was sold to me as ‘waterproof’?  Firstly, cycling in rain should be considered a water-sport – it is virtually impossible to remain completely dry, so to understand why we spend so much trying to achieve the impossible, it’s worth knowing a little bit more.

Baselayers – squeeze out a little bit more!

Baselayers – squeeze out a little bit more!

April 04, 2018

A simple google search will show that there are plenty of these specialised sports undergarments for sale, and at a bewildering array of prices. So, apart from keeping us warm when it’s still to cold to only wear a jersey, what are they good for? Why do all the manufacturers seem to think that we can’t do without them?

Shhh….. Tenn’s Best Kept Secret!

Shhh….. Tenn’s Best Kept Secret!

March 16, 2018 1 Comment

When we at Tenn launched our Whisper Waterproof Jacket in 2016, we somehow forgot to tell everyone just how good it was. Having recently worn one of these jackets through a period of serious rainfall, I now feel more than qualified to write about it. In truth, I was genuinely surpised!

Size Charts & Buying Guide

Size charts & buying guide

Below are the Tenn sizing charts, and some information about measuring, and technical properties which we hope will be helpful. If there is anything you need a hand with, that we have not included here, please Contact Us and we are always happy to help!

Measuring

As a general rule, keep the measuring tape firm, but not too tight. If you're measuring yourself, try to take them more than once, to average out any change in your posture.

Measuring your chest:

Simply measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape level under your arms and across your back.

Measuring your waist:

Just measure around the narrowest part of your body at your hips.

Measuring for gloves:

Wrap a tape measure around your strongest hand just below the knuckles and fingers, make a loose fist. Please round up to the nearest size and (not down).
